About Us
Dr. Darrell E. Samples, OMD is a licensed acupuncturist in Huntington, West Virginia who practices
Oriental medicine and naturopathic medicine.   The practice name is Drs. Samples and Adlington,
PLLC and is located at 2429 Eighth Avenue.  You can reach the office by phone at 304-529-9355.
Dr. Samples is a native West Virginian and has been in practice since 1992, and has had offices in
both Charleston and Huntington.  In the past he has practiced at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston
and at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in Huntington.

He currently practices with Dr. Jarod W. Adlington, DC.
Currently Dr. Samples is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Division of Integrative Medicine, Joan C.
Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University, Huntington, WV.  He has taught medical students
since 1996.  Sometimes patients will be asked to allow a student physician to observe during an
examination or treatment.  Patients are not obligated to participate in these training programs.

Dr. Samples is a member of the W. Va. Board of Acupuncture, the licensing agency for the State of

He also is the Co-Director and Academic Dean of the I-N Touch School of Massage Therapy,
Huntington, WV.  Dr. Samples teaches Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Pathology and

Dr. Samples trained at the Beijing School of Acupuncture and Tradition Chinese Medicine, where he
received his Oriental Medical Doctorate (OMD), as well as advanced studies at the Chinese
Institute of Acupuncture.

He completed two post graduate training specialties in Los Angeles, California.

The first post graduate program was in Acupuncture Orthopedics, taught by Fred N Lerner, DC,
PhD, classes were held on the campus of Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles.  He then completed
the diplomat exam of the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics leading to the DNBAO.

The second post graduate program was in Internal Medicine Acupuncture, taught by Bruce
Robinson, MD, FACS, classes were held on the campuses of Yo San University and Samra
University, Los Angeles, CA and Emperor's College, Santa Monica, CA.  He then completed the
diplomat exam of the National Board of Internal Medicine - Acupuncture leading to the DNBIMA.

Dr. Samples is a member of the Naturopathic Academy of Therapeutic Injection.  The NATI
members are licensed practitioners who specialize in FDA approved natural and homeopathic
injections.  He combines this work specifically with both Acupuncture Orthopedics and Internal
